Hello Greenvale Township!
I write this with gratitude, excitement, and optimism.
I am excited for the election of Joy Royle as the next Supervisor and Mark Legvold as the next Clerk for Greenvale Township. I congratulate both of them in their achievement to move our township in a new, positive direction. I have the utmost confidence they will make positive contributions to our community and that we are in great hands with the two of them as our elected officials moving forward.
I am thankful to Joy and Mark for the opportunity to be included on the ticket under the platform of Responsibly Rural. I would also like to congratulate Wayne Peterson on being elected as the Town Treasurer and wish him success.
Although the results did not turn out in my favor, I am grateful to have the opportunity to run for the office and to the 197 resident who voted for me to be your next township treasurer. I hold no animosity or ill will towards the 204 residents that did not vote for me, this is what American democracy is, and it should be celebrated. I unequivocally accept the results.
I have immense gratitude to all our neighbors and members of this great community that invested their time, effort and financial support for my candidacy. Without your support, this would not have been possible.
Responsibly Rural and my candidacy were born out of the threat of Carr’s Tree service moving into our township and changing our community in an irreversible negative manner. This would have opened the door where commercial businesses, that were not permitted prior to January 2024, to find a safe haven in our community and to encroach on our township, diminishing our property values and quality of life. The threat mobilized our community, spurred engagement and made many of us realize that WE hold the power to move our township in a purposeful manner forward. I am optimistic for the future of Greenvale and its promise to stay honest to its rural roots.
My commitment to this community does not end with my candidacy for treasurer. I will remain committed to keeping Greenvale an agricultural community, to ensure our elected officials are responsible in their allocation of township funds, are respectful to all citizen, ensuring access to information and pledging a commitment that Greenvale moves forward in a purposeful, measured manner.
Your neighbor,
Craig Host
