Mark grew up in Greenvale township and farms locally with his father. He also teaches leadership as a consultant.  Mark retired from active military service at the rank of Command Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), and held positions of fire chief, chief of security/law enforcement and First Sergeant.  He was a teacher and administrator in St. Paul Public Schools from 1997 – 2007.  Mark has two associate’s degrees, a bachelor’s in political science and elementary education and masters in school leadership and administration.  He is a 2022/23 Hubert H. Humphrey Policy Fellow and serves on the alumni board currently.

Mark is just as comfortable speaking in front of hundreds about leadership as he is getting grease and dirt on his hands in the shop or on the farm.  He served on Greenvale’s Planning Commission from its beginning until April of 2023. He and his wife Lisa have 6 grown children and 5 grandchildren.

As the recently elected Town Clerk he hopes to bring a more open and clear way of communications to township government, as well as a focus on simplifying the essential functions of the position with a firm and fair focus to keep our township “Responsibly Rural.”
