Joy and Mark are sworn in to their new roles

Joy Royle and Mark Legvold took their oaths of office as our new Supervisor and Clerk on Friday, March 21, 2025. Here they stand in front of the Greenvale Town Hall’s image of the 1943 Norman Rockwell painting “Freedom of Speech.” It’s fitting for Responsibly Rural as the image shows an average American doing his best to exercise and express his rights. The image exemplifies how American democracy is of the people, by the people, and for the people. The “average” folks in RR are like this painted man.

We’re thankful for Joy and Mark being special people who are serving while recognizing they too are “average” just like the rest of us - average folks doing what’s right, using our rights to help others. They’re undertaking a high calling and simultaneously inspiring other “average” folks in Greenvale to do the same! Thank you Joy and Mark! Onward!
