We're on YOUR side! - Mark Legvold

We’re on your side.

Craig Host and I had a great afternoon last weekend visiting homes around the township, meeting friends and neighbors.  Almost all were ready for a positive and more responsible form of government in Greenvale.  On one visit we were asked directly by the occupant, “Whose side are you on with this lawsuit?”

It’s hard not to take sides, we know that.  Our answer in the moment was one that focused on the need for responsibility in our township government.  Responsible taxpayer dollar spending is something everyone can agree on and Craig, being the one running for treasurer, made a great point surrounding fiscal responsibility, current increases in taxation and fees, and decreases in our township’s balances in our conversation.  I'm pushing for more open and responsive administration for all. But again, it’s easy to want to take sides.

The desire of some in our township to want to narrow our campaign for a Responsibly Rural township to “whose side are you on?” is pretty strong.  Frankly, I’m on the side of not spending money – our money – on something that will not benefit most, if not all the township and not spending useless time on bickering and arguing. To me that makes sense.  If the current board, and those seeking positions within our township, want to spend everyone’s money taking sides, perhaps we should evaluate where they’ll stop.

Joy, Craig and I have all leaned forward to move Greenvale to a different place.  We’ve leaned forward to move our township’s culture away from the petty self-centeredness that has built “sides” that sue each other, to one working to make the future in our township better for everyone.

We’ve leaned forward to spend money responsibly, for the good of all and to get the biggest bang for our collective buck.

We’ve leaned forward toward purposeful progress, committed to closely examining any future changes so our township is positively impacted, instead of not listening and just fast-tracking irresponsible changes.

We’ve leaned forward to move away from vindictiveness and bitter grudges carried by those seeking to perpetuate sides in our township.  If that’s the best they have to offer, then that is the best Greenvale will get in return.  Joy, Craig and I are on the side of things that are so much better!

Will you lean forward with us?  Vote for the Responsibly Rural candidates on March 11th: Joy Royle -Supervisor, Craig Host - Treasurer and Mark Legvold – Clerk.

We’re on YOUR side!
